Maybe once a year I get star struck when I meet a living legend. Last year I got mush mouthed when I saw and then met David Garabaldi on the street of Berkeley, CA. This year it was this man…Verdine White, the bass player for Earth, Wind & Fire (the man in the beige with straight hair). I was the first one backstage to say hello to him and didn’t know what to say when I shook his hand. Look here, I’m star struck because…it’s Verdine WHITE!!! I’m a huge fan of EWF and have only seen him on stage, in videos and saw him on when I used to stare at the cover of Last Days And Time back in like 1972. 

A lot of the other guys in the photo either knew him or worked with him and EWF. I’m lucky to be working with such high caliber musicians…and meeting VERDINE!!! The guy in the top right? A bad ass drummer named Vince Wilburn Jr. He’s the nephew of Miles Davis and along with his cousins, Cheryl and Erin, they oversee Miles Davis Properties, LLC. 

It’s cool to meet movie stars and TV stars, but legendary musicians are a whole other thing to me.
