It’s great to spend a few weeks in the city of angles – Los Angeles. I’m here working on the new broadway-bound musical Ain’t Too Proud – The Life And Times of The Temptations. We are at the Ahmanson Theatre until September 30th. I can understand why people come here and don’t leave. The weather here will suck you in. It’s always sunny and warm. It’s such a beautiful place in many areas. I know i can get used to living like this. After 52 years of living in the northeast, dealing with humidity, cold, ice and erratic weather, I like the climate here. Last fall, I spent four months in the Bay Area in Northern California. I explored most of the area and actually liked the fact that I could be in a really cool area of San Francisco then drive an hour east and be in some serious heat. I did like the fact that Oakland is generally warmer than San Francisco and has a pretty vibrant culture. It’s also a really scenic part of California. Before I discovered the Bay Area and Los Angeles, I fell in love with San Diego . In 2013, I worked on a show called The Last Goodbye. It was a musical based on the text and story of Romeo And Juliet paired with the music of Jeff Buckley. It was dark but also really interesting. The music was great since Jeff Buckley wrote some beautiful songs, but the show never went anywhere after this. I think they knew they had a lot more work to do on the show but I assume, didn’t have the funds to keep moving forward.  I did a lot of sightseeing while i was there. I saw how beautiful the city was and really enjoyed, once again, the weather. There is something about consistent weather that makes me happy. Now that I’m in Los Angeles for a while, I’ll get to know this part of California. I’ve done a little tourist things, but have a while lot more to do. I’ll write an update about my time here and I think by then, I’ll know which part of California i will move to after my kids get older and are on their own.
