I despise music made to click tracks. I think click tracks are totally unnecessary, with one exception (Lars Ulrich).

Yeah, I said it and will stand by it. I’ll fight anyone to the DEATH when it comes to the need for them. The best songs were made without them. The songs felt better, and great music isn’t meant to be perfect. Tempos should sway.

And look, this is coming from a drummer who can bury a click track with the best of them. I have to use them for Broadway shows, so I have no problem with them, but come on- LISTEN TO THIS!!

You know one thing that bothers me with modern technology and sounds? It’s the pursuit of perfection. Get rid of those stupid click tracks and perfect-sounding drums. Do you hear how sloppy this is? Do you hear how raggedy those drums sound? Good!

This is one of the greatest drum grooves ever sitting under one of the greatest songs ever written.

I love the sloppiness and looseness of his playing. That’s one of the many things that makes Superstition so good.
