Number three: This lovely lady.
This is our last airport selfie.
We started taking these selfies when I went away to work on musicals for a show’s “out-of town-tryout.” The first one I did was in 2013. That was when I discovered the beauty of California.
I went to cold-ass Chicago in January of 2015 and have traveled to other parts of the world on certain gigs here and there. The last time I went away for a broadway-bound show was for “Ain’t Too Proud” last year. It looks like this tryout will actually make it to Broadway.
I’m headed to Toronto with ATP today. I’ll be back to play the show in NYC after that. I have a feeling we’ll be in NYC for quite some time so there won’t be a need for more airport selfies unliess she is going on vacation with me!
My mother recently told me, “You have a good woman Clayton, you really do.” I agree with her.
When looking for a partner, it’s important to find someone who will support you, be there when the going gets rough and be your cheerleader when things are great. She’s all of that and more. I hope I’m that same person for her.
It’s wonderful to have someone to discuss current events with, even when we don’t always agree. It’s cool picking her brain when it comes to TV show history, something I know little about and she knows everything. It’s great telling her about obscure albums or songs I know about, why they were made and why they were so important – even when she might not have a clue as to what I’m talking about. It’s also cool to have a great travel partner who loves to discover new places in a not-so-touristy way.
She’s a keeper!
