31 other teams passed on him, he was a mediocre player at best, a 7th round pick…and did you really think he was gonna make the cut? He’s in the same position as HUNDREDS of other players who wanted to be in the NFL.

I was hoping Brian Banks would make it last year because he was the poster boy for being a “survivor” of false accusations of rape. The nonsense he had to endure was horrific..and he was actually good.

Oh well. Can we get back to the content of our character and not our sexual orientation, color of skin, or whether or not we were born with or without certain body parts?

Maybe one day.

Rams Cut Michael Sam, First Openly Gay Player Drafted in N.F.L.

Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by an N.F.L. team, was cut by the St. Louis Rams on Saturday.

The move came as teams across the league reduced their squads to 53 players.

In May, Sam was drafted at the end of the seventh round despite being named a co-defensive player of the year in the Southeastern Conference his senior year at the University of Missouri. He was taken with the 249th pick out of 256 players drafted.

He gave a mediocre performance at the scouting combine, which some said contributed to his low draft position.
