8 years ago, I met Bryn Johnson.
I was in the middle of a highly successful run of my first broadway show, I had a little money in the bank, I was newly single after surviving a bitter divorce. I was having the time of my life on the dating scene in New York City.
I was NOT trying to get bogged down with a girlfriend. Why should I? Nope. No way!
After several months of dating, I decided that I didn’t want to ever go steady, so we agreed to stop seeing each other. I did tell her I wanted to stay friends. I liked her a lot but in no way was I trying to have a girlfriend. Nooooope!
We kept in touch. Since we lived near each other, I would bump into her on the street here and there. After several weeks passed, we decided to grab coffee and reconnect.
A few more weeks go by and we find a way to spend some time together, although I was still insistent on my “no girlfriend policy!” She then decided to make a deal with me. We’d try the boyfriend/girlfriend thing for a month. If I didn’t break out in hives or have an ulcer, we’d be with each other exclusively.
Here we are 8 years after the day we met, still together. There have been lots of ups and downs, highs and lows, but we are still here .
As you can see, we take A LOT of selfies-lol! It was hard to pick though images to post. I have several hundred great photos.
Bryn was the right woman to repeal the law I had on my books regarding having a girlfriend. She was the right woman at the right time. She took me out of the fog of family court bullshit and made me realize all women aren’t like the ones who willingly drag men like me through court for no good reason.
I’m glad we met. I’m happy she’s a part of my life.
